5.2 Artworks & Artwork State
Voltaire uses the concept of Artwork State to help you quickly understand whether a work is Available for sale (or Owned, for Voltaire (c)), Restricted from being sold, and Sold. The versions of Voltaire each handle Artwork State slightly differently, as below.
(g) For Voltaire (g), there are 4 possible Artwork States:
Stateless Stateless. The Artwork has no particular status in the system. All new Artworks entered are Stateless by default. In order to change the State of an Artwork to Available, you must create a Transaction - a Consignment In, or an Acquisition - with the Artwork. (Represented by a white dot in the Artworks listbox and to the left of the Artwork's Registration Number.)
Available Available. An Artwork is Available for sale when it is owned (it has been part of an Acquisition), or is accepted in on consignment (it has been part of a Consignment In). (Represented by a green dot in the Artworks listbox and to the left of the Artwork's Registration Number.)
Restricted Restricted. An Artwork is Restricted from being sold when the Artwork has been reserved (it has been part of a Reserve), or consigned out to another party (it has been part of a Consignment Out). (Represented by a yellow dot in the Artworks listbox and to the left of the Artwork's Registration Number.)
Sold Sold. An Artwork is Sold when it has been sold (it has been part of a Sale). (Represented by a red dot in the Artworks listbox and to the left of the Artwork's Registration Number.)
(c) For Voltaire (c), there are 4 possible Artwork States:

Available Owned. An Artwork is owned when it has been acquired (it has been part of an Acquisition). An Artwork that is Owned is Available for Sale.
