Voltaire is a server-client mullti-user system (even if you are a single user). You connect to the system by entering your Username and Password in the Login window and clicking the Login button.

The administrator of your system will have set up User accounts for Voltaire - speak with the administrator about your User name and password, if you don't know it already.

Voltaire attempts to find the Voltaire Server by itself. If you get a message that the Server cannot be found, click on the Options button.

In the Login Window Options you can manually specify a Server address - see your administrator for the address of your Server. Check off Always connect to server manually if you know this will always be your server. Then click on the OK button, and proceed to log in.

If your User name and password are correct, Voltaire will log you in and present you with a splash screen. To get past the splash screen, type any key, or click on the screen.

Depending on your Application Settings, Voltaire may also try to check for the latest release at this point. If a release later than the one you have opened has been found, you'll be given the option to Download the latest version. (Don't forget to replace the older version with the newer one.)

You will now be at Voltaire's main window, the Browser window.
